What does an owner-operator actually make?
Your Truck. Your Loads. Your Rates. Your Business.
Move the dials to match how you actually run. This uses Advanced Trucking's real pay percentages and weekly fee schedule — not a generic estimate — so you can see the number that lands in your pocket before you ever pick up the phone.

How this calculator works — every assumption, in the open
The math
Loaded miles = total miles × (1 − deadhead %) — you burn fuel on every mile, but you only get paid on the loaded ones.
Gross on the freight = loaded miles × rate per mile, then your share = gross × 85% or 80% depending on whose trailer you're pulling.
Fuel = (total miles ÷ MPG) × (pump price − discount). Deadhead miles burn fuel at the same rate as loaded miles.
Breakeven rate = total expenses ÷ (loaded miles × your %) — the rate per loaded mile you need just to cover costs.
What's not in here
Bobtail and physical damage insurance (you carry your own), quarterly IFTA settle-up, escrow beyond the $2,500 deposit, factoring or quick-pay fees, health insurance, home expenses, and any downtime that isn't already baked into the weeks-per-year number. Treat the result as a ceiling, not a promise.

Actual settlements depend on the loads you book, the rates you negotiate, your equipment, fuel prices on the day, and how many miles you actually turn.
